Sara Jackson, Acting Operations Manager at the centre, said: "Cold and flu causes more sick days than any other ailment across the region, and every day lost through sickness costs local employers £692, a serious burden at a time of continued economic difficulty.

"Unlike the common cold, it is possible to vaccinate against the flu virus and this year's vaccine also includes protection against the swine flu virus.
